Kathleen M. Acer, Ph.D., CLCP

Dr. Kathleen M. Acer holds a dual Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology and is a Licensed Psychologist in both New York and Florida. She is a Certified Life Care Planner with advanced training and specialized expertise in Pain Management, Forensic Evaluation, Medical Psychotherapy, Vocational and Disability Assessment, and Rehabilitation. She is presently a Commissioner for ICHCC CLPC division and an editor for the ICHCC Journal for LCPs

Dr. Acer has extensive experience evaluating individuals who have experienced trauma, including survivors of sexual trauma and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She is certified by the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board and serves as a Consultative Examiner for the Social Security Administration and a Disability Evaluator for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

She is also approved by the New York City Department of Education and New York State’s Vocational Rehabilitation Program (ACCES-VR) to conduct specialized psychological and vocational evaluations.

Currently serving as Vice President and Primary Clinician at Psychological Specialists of Greater New York, Dr. Acer leads a Manhattan-based practice providing psychological assessments, vocational evaluations, Life Care Planning, and expert witness services.

With over 30 years of experience, she has conducted a wide range of evaluations across the lifespan, including psychiatric/psychological assessments, mental status exams, personality and psychodiagnostic testing, psychoeducational evaluations, and fitness-for-duty assessments. Her work frequently includes developing comprehensive Life Care Plans and delivering expert testimony in legal settings.
